Katie Levisay, Ph.D.

Therapy

I offer psychotherapy services for adults and adolescents struggling with a wide range of mental health concerns including but not limited to: depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, adjustment concerns, and parenting support and guidance.

My approach includes the following empirically-validated techniques:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  Learning how to identify the stressful beliefs that cause our emotional suffering in order to interrupt problematic behaviors (addiction, isolation, troubled relationships) that destroy our well-being.

  • Meditation. Retraining the brain at a neurological level to be more present, through mindfulness and meditation thereby facilitating our awareness of the painful - and often automatic and unconscious - narratives that cause our suffering.

  • Neuroeducation. I believe in empowering everyone with the knowledge of how and why our brains create and reinforce our suffering, as well as how these therapeutic techniques can eventually rewire how we automatically view the world, with a more positive, joyful, and peaceful perspective.

Overall, my approach is collaborative, compassionate and action-oriented. My goal is to facilitate a safe and supported space for clients that provides a powerful and life-changing set of skills that can be used to manage stressful life events, long after therapy has ended.
